silly_headshot_II.jpgCelene Butler was born and raised in Colorado. For the last ten years, she has lived and worked in Arvada as a massage therapist for a local spa. She graduated from Denver School of Massage Therapy in Westminster and became licensed in 2009 when the State of Colorado began requiring licensure for massage therapists.

Working with clients for several years, Celene realized that there was more to the human body than massaging muscles. When some clients requested deep tissue massage, then didn’t feel it yielded what they were looking for, she wondered why. The answer lay in the connection between the body and their emotions. The discomfort of deep tissue massage enabled them to stay disconnected from their emotions. She could no longer see massage therapy as a one-dimensional practice about relaxing muscles and relieving aches and pains. Her own personal growth as well as her growth as a practitioner drove her back to school to learn more about this phenomenon. In 2014, she enrolled in the Colorado School of Healing Arts in Lakewood, CO to obtain the education she needed to be confident in having her own practice, where she could explore the healing arts in greater depth to help in her own healing and growth as well as that of her clients. In 2016, Celene graduated from CSHA with certification in two powerful healing modalities—cranial sacral and lymphatic drainage and also practices the arts of healing touch (energy work) and trauma touch, known collectively as bodywork. These healing arts can be “hands on” (physical touch like Swedish or deep tissue massage) or “hands off” (energy work to clear your energy fields and connect your chakras) or “light touch” as used in cranial sacral and lymphatic drainage.

Bodywork has a totally different effect on each person. Everyone’s experience of it is different. Celene’s goal is to work with each client to teach her how to utilize bodywork techniques synergistically with that essential building block, self-love, to create the happy, successful life she wants—however that looks to her.
